Bidding Documents may be obtained from Beeline+ Blue, 2507 Ingersoll Avenue, Des Moines, IA 50312, (515) 244-1611. Plans and specifications governing the construction of the proposed improvements have been prepared by Roseland Mackey Harris Architects, P.C., which plans and specifications and the official proceedings of the Board of Supervisors referring to and defining said proposed improvements are hereby made a part of this Notice and the proposed contract by this reference, and shall be executed in compliance therewith. Each proposal shall be made on the official bid proposal form prepared for this purpose, which may be obtained from the Architect. Any alteration in the official bid proposal form will entitle the Board of Supervisors at its option to reject the proposal involved from consideration. Each proposal shall be accompanied by a bid bond or a certified check or cashier's check, drawn on a solvent state or national bank, or a certified share draft drawn on a credit union in Iowa, and filed in a sealed envelope separate from the one containing the proposal. The bidder's certified check or bid bond shall be in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the amount of the proposal, made payable to Story County, Iowa. The check may be cashed by the Board of Supervisors or the bid bond forfeited to the Board of Supervisors as liquidated damages in the event the successful bidder fails to enter into a contract and file acceptable bonds satisfactory to the Board of Supervisors assuring the faithful fulfillment of the contract and maintenance of said improvements as required by law within 10 days after the acceptance of the successful bidder proposal. Work under this contract includes removal and replacement of the back-up generator located at the county Administration Building and relocation of the existing generator to the county Engineering Office in Nevada and related work. The Board of Supervisors reserves the right to reject any or all proposals.
