The City of Joplin is accepting bids for removal of minimum thirty-four (34) trees and the planting of fifty-six (56) trees between the streets of 2 nd through 8 th and 15th through 32nd along Main Street. No substitutions will be accepted. Additional trees may be considered added or removed prior to bid award, so also include cost for adding or removing individual trees. Below you will find requirements for this project. 1. Following trees are being sought with diameter at breast height of 1-2" and quantity in parenthesis: a. Golden Rain (4) b. Spring Snow Crabapple (13) c. Gingko (Princeton Sentry) Male (3) d. Honey Locust (thornless) (4) e. Ivory Silk Japanese Lilac (15) f. Chinese Pagoda (columnar) (4) g. Chinese Elm Lace Bark (2) h. Robin Hill Downy Serviceberry (11) 2. There will be topsoil replacement required at each tree installation. 3. Desired to have soil amendment added at each tree location. 4. Each tree location has electrical, and some include lighting that may require repair during removal and/or planting. 5. Existing soil/material removal and each box clean out required. 6. When removing trees there may be some minor sidewalk repairs needed. 7. After planting the City of Joplin will require a 2-year bi-weekly watering and root stimulator agreement from completion of planting. 8. Planting will take place between October 2023 thru December 2023, or extended to spring 2024 schedule. Dependent. The City may condition award of the Contract on the Consultant's acceptance of the terms and conditions contained in the form of agreement attached hereto and made a part hereof as Exhibit A. Consultants may submit with its Proposal, written objections to the terms and conditions established in this RFP and/or agreement by identifying the specific section(s) and paragraph(s) objected to, stating the reason(s) for the objection and proposing alternative terms. Should Consultant object to any of the terms and conditions established in this RFP, including the form of agreement, the City reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to permit Consultant to rescind any or all such exceptions at any time prior to award of a contract. The City, in its sole discretion, may evaluate proposals according to whether the Consultant objects to terms and conditions and if Consultant does object, the number and type of objections. In no event shall the City's selection of a Consultant for further negotiations constitute acceptance of any objection or proposed alternative to the terms and conditions established in this RFP. The City reserves the right to negotiate modifications to proposals that it deems acceptable, reject any and all proposals, and to waive minor irregularities in the procedures.
