An Application for Access to MN Correctional Facilities/Sites must be submitted for all contractors attending the pre-bid meeting. State Reroof Fern and Power Plant Buildings at MCF Faribault A. The work will be done under one prime contract that includes: General, Structural, Mechanical, and Electrical construction. B. The following summary is a general guide to the scope of work. It should not be construed as a detailed list of work included in the contract. 1. Roof Replacement on Areas A, B, C, D, and E at the Fern Building; and Areas A and B at the Power Plant Building. 2. Structural, Mechanical, and Electrical modifications. This solicitation includes qualification requirements. Attachment C of the Response Form contains the qualification requirements for the solicitation. Qualification requirements include, but are not limited to: Responding company has completed as a Prime Contractor, not as a subcontractor the work for at least three (3) contracts which have achieved Substantial Completion since August 15, 2018, for General Contracting. Each of these contracts Must have had a construction value of $750,000 or greater. Project Manager responsible for this project has had at least five (5) years of experience with General Contracting similar in scope and value to this project. Each of these contracts must have had a construction value of $750,000 or greater. Job Superintendent responsible for this project has had at least three (3) years of experience with General Contracting similar in scope and value to this project. Each of these contracts must have had a construction value of $750,000 or greater. Roof Replacement on Areas A, B, C, D, and E at the Fern Building; and Areas A and B at the Power Plant Building 2. Structural, Mechanical, and Electrical modifications A. Remove existing materials as detailed on the Drawings. B. Remove obsolete chimneys, wing walls, cupola, dormer, roofs, and penetrations and infill openings as indicated on the Drawings C. Replace existing roof-related wood blocking slated for reuse if it contains more than 19 percent moisture, shows evidence of rotting, or is otherwise in a condition that provides an unsuitable substrate to receive new materials. 1. Unit Price 1: Tongue and groove wood plank deck replacement, per square foot 2. Unit Price 2: Wood rake edge replacement, per linear foot 3. Unit Price 3: Wood fascia replacement, per linear foot 4. Unit Price 4: Wood trim replacement, per linear foot 5. Unit Price 5: Wood rafter tail replacement, per linear foot 6. Unit Price 6: Acoustical ceiling tile (ACT), grid, and hangers, per square foot D. Refer to Structural Drawings for pre-engineered wood truss system, decking, and associated below deck construction. Remove and reinstall acoustical ceiling tiles and lay-in light fixtures as necessary to perform this Work. E. Install new self-adhering and felt underlayment as detailed, followed by new asphalt shingles. F. Install new fully-soldered gutters, downspouts, seams, and end caps. G. Install color-coated galvanized steel flashings at the details as indicated on the Drawings. H. Patch wall at overhang with new stucco to match existing. I. On Area D, install new vent stacks, and roof-to-wall transitions, with built-up roof system tie-in at locations indicated on the Drawings. J. Prepare, prime, and paint exposed wood and bonderized sheet metal as indicated on the Drawings. K. Replace an existing power roof ventilator at the Fern Building, with a new unit of the same size in the same location. Reconnect to the existing ductwork below the roof. L. Mechanical Scope of Work: 1. Demolition of unused ductwork systems with attic spaces. 2. Demolition of unused roof mounted exhaust fans. 3. Modifications to an existing dry type fire suppression system with the attic spaces. 4. Replacement of an existing roof mounted exhaust fan with new. 5. Replacement of existing flue for gas fired equipment within the building . M. Electrical Scope of Work: 1. Removal of unused electrical conduit and wiring in the attic spaces. 2. Demolition of electrical associated with obsolete mechanical equipment.
