Construction of the FORT SMITH PUMP STATION MODIFICATIONS. The work consists of furnishing all labor, equipment, and materials for the construction of the facilities consisting of, but not limited to, the following: Conversion of an existing above-grade, single, suction-lift pump station to a submersible, duplex pump station. Improvements include a duplex submersible pump station with a screening device on the intake, regrading of the pond near the intake, the addition of water service from the nearest water main, a generator and conversion of overhead to underground power feed from Fort Smith Boulevard. All questions are to be directed, IN WRITING, to Mary E. Perez at meperez@deltonafl.gov or faxed to (386) 878- 8571 seven calendar days prior to due date in order to issue an addendum. The deadline for questions for this bid is October 17, 2023. The City of Deltona reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids/proposals and to make the award to that Bidder/Respondent, who in the opinion of the City will be in the best interest of and/or the most advantageous to the City. The City of Deltona also reserves the right to reject the bid/proposal of any vendor who has previously failed in the proper performance of an award or to deliver on time contracts of a similar nature or who, in the City's opinion, is not in a position to perform properly under this award. The City of Deltona reserves the right to inspect all facilities of bidders/respondents in order to make a determination as to the foregoing. The City of Deltona reserves the right to waive any irregularities, informalities, and technicalities in offers received, and may, at its discretion, request a re-bid, or abandon the project/procurement in its entirety. PRE-BID CONFERENCE: There will not be a pre-bid conference associated with the Ft. Smith Pump Station Modifications project DESCRIPTION OF WORK: All work for the Project shall be constructed in accordance with the Drawings and Specifications prepared by Mead & Hunt and the proposed improvements will be awarded and constructed, if award is made, under one Contract. Bids shall be submitted for furnishing, delivering and installing all materials, equipment and services, including labor, for the Work, which generally involves: -Demolition and replacement of the existing stormwater pump station and intake pipe (including electrical, yard piping, mechanical, and associated components) - Regrading of the stormwater pond - Demolition and replacement of the entrance gate and sidewalk/entrance driveway - Site utility connections (Install water main connection to existing water main) - Site restoration work including re-sodding of areas disturbed by construction Engineers Estimate for this project is $434,600.00. A Bid Bond is required for this solicitation. Bid Security will be submitted and shall be made payable to City, in an amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the Bidder's Contract Price and in the form of a certified or cashier's check A Payment and Performance bond is required for this project. A payment and performance bond for 100% of the contract price will be required from the Contractor for this project. The deadline for questions for this bid is October 17, 2023. All questions are to be directed, IN WRITING, to Mary E. Perez at meperez@deltonafl.gov or faxed to (386) 878 8571 Contract time is 180 days to substantial completion, with an additional 30 days to final completion. Total contract time for this project is 210 days. 1. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, superintendence, materials, plant power, light, heat, fuel, water, tools, appliances, equipment, supplies, and means of construction necessary for proper performance and completion of the Work. The Contractor shall obtain and pay for all necessary local building permits. The Contractor shall perform and complete the work in the manner best calculated to promote rapid construction consistent with safety of life and property and to the satisfaction of the Engineer, and in strict accordance with the Contract Documents. The Contractor shall clean up the Work and maintain it during and after construction, until accepted, and shall do all Work and pay all costs incidental thereto. He shall repair or restore all structures and property that may be damaged or disturbed during performance of the Work. 2. The cost of incidental work described in these Project Requirements, for which there are no specific Contract Items, shall be considered as part of the general cost of doing the Work and shall be included in the prices for the various Contract Items. No additional payment will be made therefore. 3. The Contractor shall provide and maintain such modern plant, tools, and equipment as may be necessary, in the opinion of the Engineer, to perform in a satisfactory and acceptable manner all the Work required by this Contract. Only equipment of established reputation and proven efficiency shall be used. The Contractor shall be solely responsible for the adequacy of his workmanship, materials, and equipment, prior approval of the Engineer notwithstanding.
