Kansas Turnpike Authority (KTA) is requesting digital bid proposals for furnishing all labor and materials and performing all work in accordance with the Plans and Specifications and other Contract Documents, known as KTA Contract No. 8074, Sedgwick County, Kansas. Proposals must be accompanied by a bid bond in the amount of 5 percent of bid and made payable to the Kansas Turnpike Authority as guarantee that the bidder will enter into a contract and give a performance bond as required if awarded the contract. This project is for demolition of Toll Plaza at MM 42 on I-35 (KTA) associated with the conversion to cashless tolling. The award of each contract shall be in accordance with the provisions of the Standard Specifications of the Kansas Department of Transportation, edition of 2015, and will be based upon the summation of the products of the unit prices and the approximate quantities. Simultaneously with his delivery of the executed Contract, the Contractor shall furnish a surety bond or bonds as security for faithful performance of this Contract and for the payment of all persons performing labor on the project under this Contract and furnishing materials in connection with this Contract. The surety on such bond or bonds shall be a duly authorized surety company satisfactory to the Authority. Bids will only be accepted by Contractors that are pre-qualified by the Kansas Department of Transportation. The Authority reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any irregularity therein, to determine which is the lowest responsible bid most suitable to the Authority. Bids will be received by the Authority until the time and date as stipulated in the Notice to Contractors, and then digitally opened and posted. The Authority may consider informal any bid not prepared and submitted in accordance with the provisions hereof and may waive any informalities or reject any and all bids. Any bid may be withdrawn prior to the above-scheduled time for opening of bids or authorized postponement thereof. Any bid received after the time and date specified shall not be considered. No bidder may withdraw a bid within 60 days after the actual date of the opening thereof.
