Scope This contract shall provide for the rehabilitation of 1,750 LF of Plum Grove Road, regrading of existing roadside ditches, and the removal and replacement of drainage culverts. A bid bond in the amount of 5% of the bid issued by an acceptable surety company shall be submitted with each bid. A certified check or bank draft payable to the City of Plum Grove, Texas or negotiable U.S. Government Bonds (as par value) may be submitted in lieu of the Bid Bond. Project inspection, monitoring, and oversight will be provided by the Project Engineer and City personnel. The City of Plum Grove, Texas may perform inspection at any time on any portion of the project. All work to be performed on this project will be related to road work, and therefore, will be less than five feet deep and will not require trench protection. No work in excess of five feet deep or work that would require trench protection is authorized under this contract. In the event that any such depth conditions in excess of five feet are encountered, the City must be contacted to address the issue. This contract shall include all necessary superintendence, labor, materials, equipment, tools, piping, field jointing, cleaning, grouting, excavation, trenching, shoring, fill, grading, backfill, surface restoration, testing, hauling and disposal of excess soils to an owner approved site, and incidental items necessary for the construction of the proposed facilities as shown in the drawings and documented in the specifications. All work will be performed in strict accordance to the rules, regulations, and permits of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality The City of Plum Grove, Texas reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informalities in the bidding. Owner and Engineer, in making copies of Bidding Documents available on the above terms, do so only for the purpose of obtaining Bids for the Work and do not confer a license or grant for any other purpose. 1. Remove existing treated/untreated base and asphalt pavement 2. Subgrade preparation including 8" of cement treatment 3. Placement of road base consisting of 12" crushed limestone base 4. Placement of a surface course consisting of 2.5" hot-mix asphalt 5. Replacement of intersection culverts and driveway culverts 6. Construction of intersection and driveway turnouts 7. Re-grading of roadside ditches
