The City reserves the right to postpone the date and time for opening of bids at any time prior to the date and time announced in the advertisement. Each bid must be accompanied by cash, a certified or cashier's check or a bidder's bond in the sum of not less than ten percent (10%) of the total aggregate amount of the bid including the highest alternate. Said check or bond shall be made payable to the order of the City of Lincoln, and shall be forfeited to the City of Lincoln if the successful bidder refuses, neglects, or fails to file satisfactory bonds as required by the Contract Documents or to enter into the agreement for construction after being requested to do so by the City.
