Weld County will award the bid to the contractor/vendor with the best offering deemed most advantageous to the County, price/cost being the primary consideration. The determination of whether the bid is acceptable and meets the minimum requirements of the solicitation is solely within the discretion of the County. Weld County is requesting the cabling at the Weld County Courts Holding facility. The project includes a total of 609 category 6 cables (Color BLUE) from a data closet to the specific locations in the same building. Five (5) floors will have low voltage category 6 cable pulls and single mode fiber runs per the below chart. Delivery Point P.O. Box 758 / 1401 N 17th Avenue, Greeley, CO 80632 Copper Cable and Pathway Requirements: (QTY 629 cables requested) o Modular patch panels itemized in specification section for all cables are required. o CommScope 7504 Cat 6 Blue Cable o All terminations must be tested to 250 MHZ and test sheets must be bound and given to technical services for future reference. o All test documentation shall be delivered in hard and soft copy. Test documentation will include build out floor plan and cable test results. o All testing must be done with company owned equipment and Corning certified for fiber. o Copper cable locations and other requirements will be handed out at the mandatory pre-bid meeting. o All cable runs will be home run from the distribution frame to each work area. o Bridge taps and splices are not permitted as part of the horizontal cabling. o Grounded cabling is not required .90 Meter maximum horizontal cable length. o Provide neat cable management in the computer room. o Commscope High Density Modular Patch Panels P/N 1375292 (2U-48) will be utilized for Data Closet Terminations o Commscope SL110 Series Modular Jack to be utilize in conjunction with the Patch Panel for Data Closet Termination. All patch panel Jacks must be left populated even if a cable is not terminated. All ports in all installed patch panels must have a modular jack installed. o All patch panels and cables must be labelled. o All cables must be pulled to their final location. If conduits or cut outs are not supplied, or furniture mounting is required, the completion of the cable pull must be completed as requested. o Provide support for cabling throughout the facility via J-hooks/Arlington loops or other similar means. o Assure a ANNSI code and other code requirements are met. o Assure all pathways are properly sleeved. o Pathways and/core drills may be required and should be included as part of the requirements of the project. Fiber Installation Requirements: o Seven (7) - 24 Strand Single Mode fiber route as specified is required o All fiber optics strands are to be terminated into the Data Closets utilizing the fiber enclosures, bulkheads and LC connectors specified. This is a turnkey solution. All necessary materials and labor will be provided by the contractor company. o Install, splice, terminate, and test Single Mode Coring fiber on both ends of each fiber run as specified. o As-builds, in both hard and soft copy, to be provided 30 days after completion. o Fiber test results, in both hard and soft copy, to be provided 30 days after completion. o All equipment used for testing must be certified and calibrated within the previous 365 days. o In order to maintain the optical fiber's performance, the following installation practices shall be followed: o All fiber must be Corning Fiber and all terminations will be LC connections. o Do not exceed the recommended pulling tension. o Do not exceed the recommended minimum bend radius. o A slack loop of 25' shall be left in each Data Closet. o Any parts, components, subassemblies, or materials not specified, but necessary for a complete and functioning system, must be furnished as part of the finished product. No additional allowances will be made for items omitted from the specifications. Data Closet and Rack Requirements: o Provide Two (2) 19" racks and associated cable management and ladder rack as specified per data closet for a total of 14 racks. o Verticle cable management o Provide ladder rack and associated equipment. o Provide appropriate and required equipment for cable bend radius when water falling into the rack. o Provide fire caulking in all required locations. o Provide appropriate support.
