The work is being done in in a 12 storey apartment building located at 385 Carlton Street, Winnipeg, MB. Work site location will be partially occupied during construction. This specification is intended to cover the complete furnishing and installing of all labour and materials required to modernize two geared traction passenger elevators located at 385 Carlton Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba as detailed. All work shall be performed in a workmanlike manner and is to include all work and material in accordance with the drawings and as specified herein. The existing equipment consists of two A C geared traction passenger elevators, manufactured by Armor Elevator and installed by Winnipeg Elevator in 1974, Serial Numbers 742405 A&B, DOL Installation Numbers 3263 and 3283. The original sectional drawing for this installation forms part of this tender package. (The plan drawing is not available.) The Elevator Contractor will be the prime contractor on site and shall be responsible for providing whatever additional supporting items not specifically mentioned in this specification are required to bring the various parts of the work together. There is no "Work By Others" section, as the Elevator Contractor alone, as prime contractor, shall provide a complete modernization. Any additional work normally provided by other trades, such as new disconnect switches, pit lights, connection of remote telephones, fire alarm and emergency power generator signals, etc., shall be included in his tender price. A performance bond of fifty percent (50%) of the contract price for the Project containing the same terms and conditions as the specimen performance bond included as Schedule A of Appendix 4 (Bonding Requirements) of the Agreement; and A labour and material payment bond of Fifty Percent (50%) of the cost of the Project containing the same terms and conditions as the specimen labour and material payment bond included as Schedule B of Appendix 4 (Bonding Requirements) of the Agreement.
