The City of Topeka is seeking bids from qualified Contractors for the purchase and installation of a complete ADA-compliant motion-activated automatic sliding door entry system located at the Law Enforcement Center, 320 S. Kansas Avenue, Topeka, KS. A. Remove and properly dispose of the existing doors that are being replaced. There are eight (8) existing doors in total. B. Remove one (1) railing, one (1) post with handicap door openers on them and properly disconnect the power supply to the railing and post. C. Install two (2) new ADA-compliant motion activated sliding door systems at the south main entrance on the Topeka Police Department side of the Law Enforcement Center. Doors will be installed on both the exterior and interior existing entries of the area. D. Installation must conform to the door manufacturer's instructions and be performed in a manner as to not void the manufacturer's warranty. E. The contractor must complete the installation of one set of new sliding doors before starting on the installation of the second set of sliding doors. F. The contractor must maintain a safe entrance to the building during construction. G. Maintain a safe work environment for workers, City employees, and the public. H. Maintain a clean project area during construction and perform a final clean up at project completion. I. The contractor must exercise care not to damage the existing interior or exterior of the structure. The contractor is responsible to repair any damage resulting from their work, including painting repairs to areas that are disturbed or damaged and require proper repair. The contractor must properly prepare the area to include priming and sealing with a waterproof stain sealer if applicable. A minimum of one (1) primer coat and three (3) finish coats shall be applied to ensure complete coverage with no bleed through. Question Deadline 10/04/2023 at 10:30 AM CT
