This contract includes the replacement of aged and undersized watermain along Todd Avenue between Higbee Street and Morse Street. The watermain installation includes approximately 1,630' of 12-inch, 55' of 6-inch, and 50' of 4-inch. The project also includes replacement of service lines suspected of containing lead. New hydrants, valves, connections to existing watermain, capping of existing watermain, and all subsequent restoration (asphalt, concrete, gravel, grass, etc.) are part of this project. There are approximately seven water service lines between Higbee Street and Morse Street that will be fully replaced. Full replacement includes water services suspected of containing lead pipe, or once connected to lead containing components, that must be replaced from the proposed watermain to 18" inside the foundation or building structure. Davis Bacon Act prevailing wages apply to this contract. There is also a separate contract as part of this project that includes the installation of a new well and well house (Contract 2) for the community. The new well replaces the aged existing Well No. 4, which is to be abandoned as part of Contract 2. Work from Contract 1 shall not impact the progress of Contract 2. In addition, there are numerous lead service line replacements outside of the DWSRF project area that are expected to be completed by the City of Ree d City The date that the Bidding Documents are transmitted by the Issuing Office will be considered the Bidder's date of receipt of the Bidding Documents. For all further requirements regarding bid submittal, qualifications, procedures, and contract award, refer to the Instructions to Bidders that are included in the Bidding Documents. Bid security shall be furnished in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. Contractor shall furnish a performance bond and a payment bond, each in an amount at least equal to the Contract Price, as security for the faithful performance and payment of Contractor's obligations under the Contract. These bonds must remain in effect until one year after the date when final payment becomes due or until completion of the correction period specified in Paragraph 15.08, whichever is later, except as provided otherwise by Laws or Regulations, the terms of a prescribed bond form, the Supplementary Conditions, or other provisions of the Contract The City of Ree d City reserves the right to accept any bid, reject any or all bids, to waive informalities and make the award in any manner deemed in the best interest of the City of Ree d City.
