The City of Scottsdale is accepting Statements of Qualifications from qualified Design-Build Managers (DBM) to provide design phase and complete construction services for: 1) City Hall Solar System - install an approximate 250KW photovoltaic (PV) Parasol system over the City Hall parking lot and install 2 electric vehicle dual-charging stations. This project will greatly increase the city's solar generating capacity, will reduce the energy cost of the Civic Center Campus and will create a shaded public space for events. Parasols may also be considered in the Civic Center Plaza area to provide solar power as well as shade. The estimated construction cost for this installation is $2.9 million. 2) Civic Center Solar System - design and installation of a new photovoltaic (PV) solar system across several portions of the Civic Center Mall area and install two electric vehicle dual-charging stations. Primary area of consideration is atop the Library Garage off of Drinkwater. The city projects an approximate 600KW system at this location. Estimated construction cost is $1.7 million. The following site and system may also be considered as an alternate to the Library Garage: A parasol system erected in the 75th Street Parking Lot adjacent to the Stadium and Justice center. This parasol would be tall enough to allow high profile vehicles and event structures to be erected beneath, while providing shade to a portion of the parking area. The city projects an approximate 282KW system at this location. Construction budget for this alternate location would be the same $1.7 million. 3) Eldorado Pool Solar System - This project was originally envisioned as a solar water heating system, but the city would like to consider the option of a photovoltaic system to offset year-round electrical loads and possible future conversion to an electric heating system in lieu of the current natural gas boiler. The city projects an approximate 200KW maximum system size. System would be mounted on parking canopies pprovided by the DBM under this contract. Construction budget for this site is $360,000. Questions must be received in writing by Noon, December 28, 2023. Responses to questions will be posted to the City's website, at the address above, by close of business, Wednesday, January 3, 2024, by addendum.
