Meeting is optional, but bidders are highly encouraged to attend. The work covered under this contract is located on various streets in Kaunakakai, Molokai, Hawaii. The work will take place on live sewerlines and sewer laterals currently in service, and may be below or near the groundwater table. The Contractor is advised of the presence within the project limits of existing utilities and other improvements including but not limited to potable water lines, sewer lines, overhead and underground power and telephone lines, storm drains, parking lots driveways and lawns. All existing utilities shall remain in operation throughout the duration of the project. Access to the facilities shall remain open throughout the duration of the project. Temporary closure of driveways, parking lots, sidewalks, etc. shall be coordinated with the county engineer and/or the owners of the affected parcels. When excavating, the contractor shall be aware of all underground utilities and shall exercise extreme caution to prevent damage to utilities or existing structures. Bidders are strongly encouraged to inspect the site of the work to satisfy themselves by personal examination or by such other means as they may prefer, of the location of the proposed work, and of the actual conditions of and at the site of work.
