Locations of the Proposed Work: As funding allows, the specified work is expected to take place on the following streets: 1. North Main Street (between Center Street and Academy Street) 2. South Main Street (between Center Street and Ward Street) 3. Prince Street (between South Main Street and South Whittlesey Avenue) 4. South Whittlesey Avenue (between Center Street and Prince Street) 5. South Orchard Street (between Center Street and Prince Street) 6. North Whittlesey Avenue (between Center Street and Church Street) 7. North Orchard Street (between Center Street and Church Street) 8. William Street (between Center Street and Church Street) 9. Meadow Street (between Center Street and Church Street) It is the Towns intent to engage a qualified and competent sidewalk, curb, and paving contractor possessing the necessary and appropriate manpower, equipment, and experience to perform sidewalk repairs and incidental work in the Town Center of Wallingford. Basis of Award: The Town intends to award the bid to the responsive and responsible bidder offering the lowest total cost. Inquiries: Questions concerning the work requirements of this bid should be submitted through Electronically. Verbal inquiries and any subsequent verbal responses will not be binding to the Town of Wallingford. Answers to questions will be posted on the Purchasing Portal or via an addendum emailed to all registered bidders who have obtained Electronically. Contractor Requirements: 1. Contractor must be registered in the State of Connecticut. 2. Contractor must have at least five (5) years of experience in this field of work and must be licensed and certified as required by existing local, state, federal, O.S.H.A., E.P.A or any other existing rules or regulations. 3. Contractor is responsible for disposing of all debris. 4. Contractor to supply all labor, equipment, tools and materials needed for the work specified within the bid documents. 5. The Contractor to coordinate all work described in the bid documents with the Engineering Department. References: Bids will be considered only from firms regularly engaged in the business as described in the bid package with a record of good performance. A list of three (3) completed projects within the last five (5) with names and phone numbers of references for each project must be provided and should be included with the bid submittal. Clarification Deadline: 10/4/2023 5:00 PM Submitted in duplicate unless otherwise indicated in the specifications. Time for Completion: The work under this Contract (Work Authorization) must be completed by June 30, 2024 due to funding requirements. Contractor is to submit proposed construction schedule with the bid. The Town of Wallingford may require further information and references on any individual or company placing a bid prior to the awarding of a bid. The Purchasing Agent reserves the right to amend and/or cancel the bid invitation prior to the time and date of the bid opening. The Purchasing Agent reserves the right to correct an award erroneously made as a result of a clerical error on the part of the Town of Wallingford. A contract shall not be awarded to any corporation, firm or individual who has an unpaid and overdue debt to the Town by nonpayment of taxes, by debt or contract, or who is in default as surety or otherwise by any obligation to the Town.
