MCPD is looking to create additional park amenities on approximately 7 acres of this highly visible site along Remsen Road in Granger Township. In this area, MCPD seeks to construct a natural play area, approximately 0.3 miles of trails, and passive recreation amenities for this existing park. The intent of the project is to provide a combination of education and play for children to engage with the natural environment including trails and planting areas that mimic the historic terraced farming which used to take place here. The construction activities identified for this project include creation of natural play features, accessible trails that meet ADA standards, and utilizing native plantings within the designated site. The Design-Builder will be responsible for the design, permitting, geotechnical evaluation and conditions, historic and cultural resource management, and for locating all utilities prior to commencing work. The Design-Builder will be responsible for providing all information and for securing, on behalf of MCPD, all necessary state, local, and federal permits for the project. This includes all required surveying and data collection to prepare and submit permit applications and payment of all required fees to obtain permits or agency authorizations to proceed. No work shall be commenced until the permits are secured and final review has been approved by MCPD. The Design-Builder shall observe and comply with all legal requirements in the performance of the work. Design-Builder will be responsible for all modifications to the site including, but not limited to, construction access and staging, trails, landscaping, playscape creation, trailhead creation, drainage improvements, and utility relocations. Following construction completion, as-built drawings must be provided by the Design-Builder. The scope of work shall be to provide Design-Build services to construct approximately seven acres of multiuse play and passive recreation amenities including a natural play area, trails, and terraced planting areas.
