Reference Number 0000332941 The Charter Township of Orion (population of approximately 39,421 residents) located in northern Oakland County in southeast Michigan is issuing a Request for Proposals (RFP) seeking professional engineering services from interested firms to perform a stormwater and lake level study on Buckhorn Lake and the tributary drainage area. Buckhorn Lake is a small landlocked lake with no natural outlets. As a result, residents are regularly impacted by flooding and high-water levels during large or frequent rain events. The firm will seek to identify cost-effective alternatives that mitigate flood risk and effectively manage stormwater to reduce or eliminate the long-term risk to human life or property from flooding or basement backups. This project will be funded through the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP 4607.04).
