The project consists of interior and exterior coatings removal and disposal, cleaning, and recoating of a 250,000-gallon welded steel water storage tank with a "lead containing coating", and installation of a new 8-inch overflow pipe and concrete splash pad. The water storage tank is located on Simmons Circle, just south of Mountainburg, Arkansas. All questions about the meaning or intent of the Contract Documents are to be directed in writing to Engineer. Question Deadline 09/23/2023 The work of this Contract is located approximately one-half mile north of Highway 71 at the end of Simmons Circle, near the City of Mountainburg, Arkansas. Furnish all labor, materials, equipment and incidentals required and construct the Simmons Tank No. 1 Improvements in its entirety as shown on the Drawings and as specified herein The Work includes, but is not necessarily limited to the following: Replacement of all water storage tank screens and gaskets Cleaning and recoating of an existing 250,000-gallon, welded steel, potable water storage standpipe Installation of a blast containment curtain Abrasive blast cleaning of "lead containing" coatings, and the removal and disposal of the lead containing coatings and blast media in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations Removal and disposal of an existing overflow weir box and exterior 90-degree overflow fitting. Work shall include welding a patch to close the pipe opening Removal and disposal of the existing tank level indicator. Work shall include welding patches to fill all penetrations and repairing tank surfaces affected during demolition Installation of a new weir box, a new 8-inch steel overflow pipe, and a concrete splash pad Installation of a new intruder protection door on the existing access ladder Perform site grading around the water storage tank perimeter to lower the ground elevation to a elevation 6-inches below the top of the water storage tank foundation Installation of a tank mixing system Disinfection of the 250,000-gallon water storage tank Bacteriological testing Perform site restoration
