Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County does not bind itself in any way to accept any proposal. Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County in Rock Springs, Wyoming is seeking proposals from qualified construction companies for the work required to renovate and expand the existing laboratory suite. Construction to include minor renovations within the existing 4,960 gross sq. ft. laboratory, as well as the construction of 2 story expansion. Expansion includes 3,860 gross sq. ft. of expanded laboratory space on first floor, and administration office space of 3,260 gross sq. ft. on second floor. Services will include general building and site construction. Beginning in 2000, MHSC began a process for lab expansion in response to the pandemic and demands placed on healthcare. The project commenced with initial lab expansion design as one level. As design progressed, it was determined the project program needed adjusted to meet a larger function of the hospital. As a result, the project was modified accordingly, requiring the Owner to seek additional funding. With funding secured, the program was adjusted to include a second story and design continued. The project consists of minor renovations within the existing lab space to improve functionality. The main laboratory space will be expanded to improve function, as well as provide additional area for modernized equipment. Site development includes drive accesses for drive-thru services such as virus testing and swabbing. The design also provides another entry point to the hospital allowing for more flexible response to future needs for intake and outtake of patients
