The intent of this solicitation is to establish a contract with a qualified contractor(s) to furnish all labor, supervision, materials, and any incidentals necessary for one (1) walk-in freezer and one (1) walk-in refrigerator for a complete and finished project for Frederick County Public Schools. This bid will be for an installation at the new FCPS Warehouse which never had an existing unit. The qualified contractor will also furnish labor and parts for the warranty life of the units and cooler boxes. Attached is Exhibit A the floor plan for the new warehouse and exhibit B, a conceptual drawing of dimensions of the walk-in freezer and refrigerator. Equipment provided, and installed under this bid must include self-contained floor as part of the Walk-in Refrigerator and Walk-in Freezer. This bid will require the winning bidder to provide design, permitting, and installation services for all work required under this bid. Question Submission Deadline:December 22, 2023, 3:00pm a) The bidder shall provide appropriate sprinkler head in both the walk-in boxes and stub connections through the top of the boxes. Stub pipping for sprinklers will be connected to existing building sprinkler system by a third-party contractor. b) The bidder shall provide technical information for all the electrical requirements for the new proposed walk-in boxes and indicate the type and location for the services necessary to operate the proposed equipment. c) The awarded bidder shall submit technical information for the proposed walk-in refrigerators and walk-in freezers for the project at the time of bid. This technical data shall include a two-year d) installers warranty for parts and labor and not less than 5-year compressor warranty. The compressor warranty shall be longer if the manufacturer standard compressor warranty period exceeds 5 years. When service is required during the warranty period, the vendor shall provide service within 3 hours after FCPS submitted a warranty claim. e) The proposed walk-in refrigerators and walk-in freezers shall have a floor system that provides non-skid slip resistance for the FCPS food service staff and shall support the shelving units and goods stored in the boxes. f) The proposed walk-in refrigerators and walk-in freezers will have a total of (6) 72"X120" sliding doors. One door on each of the entrance sides of the cooler and freezer. One on each of the transition walls between the storage cooler and freezer, and the staging cooler and freezer. One door on each of the exit sides of the cooler and freezer. g) The proposed walk-in refrigerators and walk-in freezers will be 39'X 85'. This includes the storage cooler and the staging cooler. The freezer is 39' X 30'. This includes the storage freezer and the staging freezer. There will be approximately 12" between the two boxes making the overall dimensions 60' wide by 79' long. The proposed equipment will support shelves 6' high holding frozen product at approximately 800-1000 pounds. h) The proposed walk-in refrigerators and walk-in freezers will include lights in the quote. The lights will all be LED 48" and be located on the ceiling. With 24 ea. in the storage freezer, 8 ea. in the staging freezer, 12 ea. in the storage cooler, 4 ea. in the staging cooler. i) The proposed walk-in refrigerators and walk-in freezers will need to be built on insulated floors. The equipment will be built on an insulated raised platform and ramps would need to be built on each end. j) The proposed walk-in refrigerators and walk-in freezers will use refrigerant R448A.
