General work description: The work to be done generally consists of installing a new crosswalk and push button activated RRFB system, solar powered. Work includes but not limited to removal of portions of existing striping, new striping, storm drain pipe extension, installing truncated domes set in concrete, paved landing area, concrete curb ramps and signage. Bids and bid bonds shall be made on the Bid Proposal issued. Bids shall be accompanied by a certified cashier's check/s or bid bond in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the total bid amount, made payable to the order of "City of Orinda". Any bid received after the time specified in this Notice will be returned unopened. No oral, telegraphic, or facsimile bids or modifications will be accepted or considered. Bids must cover the entire project, including furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, transportation, and services. Neither partial nor contingent bids will be considered. The successful bidder shall furnish a payment bond and a performance bond. This contract is subject to state contract nondiscrimination and compliance requirements pursuant to Government Code, Section 12990. The Contractor shall possess a valid Class A License at the time the Contract is awarded The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids or any portion of any bid and/or waive any irregularity in any bid received.
