(2) Road/vehicle access for agricultural operations, OSMP administrative operations, and emergency access. Public motorized vehicle use is prohibited - a gate blocks the road entrance. b) Kelso Road: i) Description: Simple two-track unimproved road. ii) Primary purpose: OSMP administrative vehicle access route. It is occasionally used recreationally by walkers, but this is not an official designated use of the road. Public motorized vehicle use is prohibited - a gate blocks the road entrance. 2) Description of Work: a) Eagle and Sage Trails: Implement repairs of the roads to improve conditions according to the provided Plans and Specifications. The goals are to: i) Repair erosion and mud issues. ii) Improve drainage to prevent future deterioration of the road. iii) Improve recreational experiences for trail users. b) Kelso Road: Repair the sinkhole that has formed on an embankment - review the enclosed "Kelso Road Sinkhole Repair" documents for details. There are not engineered plans for this work - OSMP looks to the Contractor to recommend best practices and options for repairing this site. 3) Timeline: a) Construction work may be started afterall of the following: i) Tuesday, January 16, 2024 ii) Issuance of the Contract Notice to Proceed to the Contractor iii) Contractor notification to OSMP a minimum of 2 weeks prior to construction to ensure that OSMP has adequate to implement trail/trailhead closures and provide public notification. b) March 15, 2024: i) Substantial Completion of Eagle and Sage Trails Phase 1 construction. c) May 6, 2024: i) Substantial Completion of Eagle and Sage Trails Phase 2 construction. ii) Substantial Completion of Kelso Road sinkhole repair. d) May 15, 2024: i) Final Completion. The City of Boulder is requesting bids from qualified contractors to repair two project sites: Eagle and Sage Trails (which serve as recreational trails and administrative and agricultural access roads) and Kelso Road (a simple two-track access road). The work shall be implemented according to the project plans and contract documents. The proposal guaranty shall be a certified check, cashier's check, or bid bond in the amount of 5 percent of the Contractors total bid. The City of Boulder reserves the right to make the award on the basis of the bid deemed most favorable to the City, to waive any informalities or to reject any or all bids.
