.1 The Government of Alberta (the "Province") requires construction services for the Lethbridge Northern Headworks (LNH) canal liner replacement, including but not limited to: .1 removal of the existing gravel armour; .2 removal and disposal of the existing Reinforced Polyethene (RPE) liner; .3 installation of the new liner including trimming, placing, and seeming joints, start/end trenches, and key-ins; .4 installation of a non-woven geotextile and/or bedding sand; and .5 installation of a 300mm thick layer of salvaged or new gravel armour. .2 The site of the work for this contract is located between NE 1/4 Section 29 and SE 1/4 Section 34 of Township 8, Range 27, West of the 4th Meridian, at Lethbridge Northern Headworks Canal on the Piikani Reserve, approximately 25 km SouthWest of Fort Macleod, AB. .3 The LNH canal is typically drained between October 15 to April 15, of each year. The work is not to be performed inside of the canal banks or in a manner that interferes with the operation of the canal when the canal is in use. .4 The Project will include, but is not limited to, the following scope of work: .1 Excavation of the existing gravel armour; .2 Removal of the RPE liner; .3 Trench excavation; .4 Supply and installation of new liner; .5 Supply and installation of non-woven geotextile; and .6 Installation of 300mm thick salvaged or new gravel armour layer. .5 The project delivery method will be Design-Bid-Build. .6 Additional project information can be found in the Appendices. .7 Complete design drawings and technical specifications, which will be included in the Tender, are being developed by the design consultant retained by Alberta Transportation and Economic Corridors. .8 The Contractor will construct the Project in accordance with the technical requirements of the Tender and must comply with all applicable national, provincial, and municipal laws, codes, standards, regulations, and by-laws.
