Construct STAGECOACH DRIVE from SOUTH 78TH STREET TO SOUTH 81ST STREET including all materials, labour, and equipment necessary for installation of approximately: 915 LF of storm sewer with 5 structures, 1,260 LF of water main, 1,900 CY of grading, 6,350 SY of PCC pavement, 2 ACRES of surface restoration, erosion control including 75 TONS of erosion stone, 1,500 LF of city fiber conduit inter-connect, pavement markings, traffic control and miscellaneous related work and appurtenances. The City reserves the right to reject any and/or all bids and to waive any and/or all technicalities and/or all irregularities. Work on said project shall commence within ten (10) calendar days of the written notice to proceed and shall be substantially complete by July 26, 2024. Substantial completion shall be defined as all utilities, grading, and pavement completed, with the streets and sidewalks fully open to traffic. Liquidated damages in the amount of Five Hundred and 00/100 dollars\ ($500.00) per calendar day will be assessed for work not substantially completed within the designated Contract term(s). The work shall be fully completed by September 20, 2024. Full completion shall be defined as all improvements, including restoration and seeding, completed and ready for final acceptance. Liquidated damages in the amount of Five Hundred and 00/100 dollars ($500.00) per calendar day will be assessed for each day that the work remains uncompleted after the end of the contract period. All bids shall be made on a form furnished by the City and shall be filed on or before the time specified above, in a sealed envelope addressed to the City Clerk of West Des Moines, Iowa, clearly stating that the envelope contains a bid on this project. Each proposal shall be accompanied by a bid bond, a cashier's or certified check drawn on an Iowa bank or a bank chartered under the laws of the United States in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the bid. If a bid bond is submitted it must be on the form provided with the contract documents. Payment will be made to the contractor based on monthly estimates in amounts equal to ninetyfive (95%) percent of the contract value of the work completed during the preceding calendar month, and will be based upon an estimate prepared by the Contractor on the first day of the month, subject to the approval of the Engineer
