Construction of an extension of Farr Avenue, creating a new north-south roadway between Fairfax Boulevard and Orchard Street. Questions Deadline September 26, 2023 A fully completed and properly executed original Bid Bond, cashier's check, certified check, money order, or cash escrow in the amount of five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid made payable to the Treasurer of the City shall accompany each bid. The project scope includes, but is not limited to the following Work as specified in the City of Fairfax Public Facilities Manual and/or VDOT Standards/Specifications as applicable: o Earthwork and grading o Road construction, including associated curb & gutter and parking bump-outs o Pedestrian accommodations including sidewalk and curb ramps o Storm drainage and stormwater management improvements o Streetlights (acorn style), including associated conduit & electrical work o Permanent pavement markings & signing o Landscaping and beautification o All measures required for erosion & sediment control and maintenance of traffic o Materials testing in accordance with the current VDOT Inspection Manual o Other items necessary for completion of the work per contract documents The construction plans for this project depict work performed between Fairfax Boulevard and the realigned leg of Orchard Street. However, only a portion of this work is included within the scope of thisIFB. Farr Avenue Extension work shall only be performed on Parcel 003 (C/L Sta. 15+04.17 to C/L Sta. 18+68.36. Work depicted south of this property boundary (including Parcel 001 and work within Fairfax Boulevard ROW) is to be performed by others and is explicitly excluded from this IFB. Work described within this IFB is also inclusive of road work to construct the intersection with Farr Avenue Extension and Northfax Street, formerly and referred to in the plans as Orchard Street. Work on Northfax Street shall be performed between C/L Sta. 600+00.00 and C/L Sta. 600+38.02.
