The work to be performed under this contract consists of rehabilitation of portions of the existing wastewater collection system. The project consists of constructing approximately 75-point repairs, lining 19,621 LF of 8"-12" existing gravity sewer, replacing 4,498 LF of 8" and 12" gravity sewer main, replacing 48 manholes, and replacing 407 sewer services. The Project consists of constructing Utilities Improvements for the Town of Beaufort, NC, which includes the rehabilitation,replacement and construction of wastewater collection, water distribution and stormwater drainage utilities under three (3) distinct contracts. The work to be performed under this contract consists of replacement of portions of the existing water distribution system in the Town of Beaufort, North Carolina. The Project consists of constructing approximately 16,500 LF of 6" water mains, approximately 3,400 LF of 8" water mains, approximately 3,800 LF of 12" water mains, 92 - 6" gate valves, 14 - 8" gate valves, 10 - 12" gate valves, replacement of 36 fire hydrants, installation of 2 new hydrants, replacement of 370 water service connections, abandonment of approximately 20,000 LF of existing water mains using flowable fill, and abandonment of existing 2" water mains by capping, and related work. The work to be performed under this contract consists of stormwater drainage system improvements for six (6) areas within the Town. The project consists of constructing approximately 5,800 LF of 15" to 36" stormwater pipe, 82 related drainage structures and removing or abandoning existing pipe. All bids must be made on blank forms provided and included in the bound document. The name, address, and license number with limitation and classification of the Bidder must be plainly marked thereon. Contractors are notified that North Carolina G.S. 87 relating to licensing of contractors will be observed in receiving bids and awarding contracts. An additional electronic (.pdf) version of plans and specifications may be purchased for an additional $35.00 non-refundable fee. Checks for Bidding Documents shall be payable to "Rivers & Associates, Inc.". Upon request and receipt of the document deposit indicated above, the Issuing Office will transmit the Bidding Documents. The date that the Bidding Documents are transmitted by the Issuing Office will be considered the Bidder's date of receipt of the Bidding Documents. Partial sets of Bidding Documents will not be available from the Issuing Office. Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for full or partial sets of Bidding Documents, including Addenda if any, obtained from sources other than the Issuing Office. If the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2017 (Division A - Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2017) and subsequent statutes mandating domestic preference applies an American Iron and Steel requirement to this project. All iron and steel products used in this project must be produced in the United States. The term "iron and steel products" means the following products made primarily of iron or steel: lined or unlined pipes and fittings, manhole covers and other municipal castings, hydrants, tanks, flanges, pipe clamps and restraints, valves, structural steel, reinforced precast concrete, and Construction Materials. For all further requirements regarding bid submittal, bid security, qualifications, procedures, and contract award, refer to the Instructions to Bidders that are included in the Bidding Documents. The Town of Beaufort reserves the right to waive any informalities, to reject any or all bids, and to accept that Bid or Bids which appear to be in the Owner's best interest.
