Town-wide modifying, furnishing, and installing of traffic control signal equipment on existing posts and supports, including pedestrian housings, pedestrian push buttons with signs and saddles, video detection system, controller and cabinet modifications, wire and cables, equipment grounding and bonding, electrical connections, and providing all incidental materials necessary for operating and controlling the traffic control signals within the Town of Braintree as determined and directed by the Department of Public Works - Engineering Division The Town of Braintree seeks a contractor to upgrade traffic signal equipment. The work consists of furnishing and installing traffic control signal equipment complete and ready for operation, as shown on the plans, at the following intersections: 1. Elm Street at Church Street 2. Elm Street at Middle Street/Adams Street/Hawthorn Road. Included in the work is the modifying, furnishing, and installing of traffic control signal equipment on existing posts and supports, including pedestrian housings, pedestrian push buttons with signs and saddles, video detection system, controller and cabinet modifications, wire and cables, equipment grounding and bonding, electrical connections, and providing all incidental materials necessary for operating and controlling the traffic control signals, as shown on the plans and specified. Existing service connections will be maintained at the intersection during construction. No work shall be done in manholes or on power poles without a representative of the servicing electric company being present. The Contractor will be responsible for coordinating with the electric company for any work required. All questions regarding this bid should be directed to Ryan Matheson, Engineering Manager by email to rmatheson@braintreema.gov. Questions will be accepted until September 20, 2023 and answers to any questions will be provided to all bidders by end of business on September 22, 2023. All bids must be accompanied by a returnable bid deposit in an amount that is five percent (5%) of the value of the bid. The right is reserved to reject any or all bids or to accept any part of a bid or the one deemed best for the Town and waive any informality in the bidding if it is in the best interest of the Town to do so.
