The City and Borough of Juneau (CBJ) intends to engage a qualified, experienced contractor to provide Lighting Improvements for the Juneau Police Department Impound Lot. SCOPE OF WORK. The Juneau Police Department and the City and Borough of Juneau seeks a qualified Contractor to provide Lighting Improvements for the Juneau Police Department Impound Lot. BID SECURITY. Each Bid shall be accompanied by a certified or cashier's check or Bid Bond, in the amount of 5% percent of the Bid, payable to the City and Borough of Juneau, Alaska, as a guarantee that the Bidder, if its Bid is accepted, will promptly execute the Agreement. A Bid shall not be considered unless one of the forms of Bidder's security is provided as prescribed in Section II, Article 7.0, at the time of bid. CONTRACTOR'S LICENSE. All contractors are required to have a current Alaska Contractor's License, prior to submitting a Bid, and a current Alaska Business License prior to award. BID TO REMAIN OPEN. The Bidder shall guarantee the Bid for a period of 30 Days from the date of Bid opening. Any component of the Bid including additive alternates may be awarded anytime during the 30 Days. PROJECT COMPLETION. ALL WORK shall be completed by December 1, 2023. This project is solely funded by a Department of Homeland Security (DHS)Grant with specific completion requirements. Supply and install 4 new LED Area lights, new wood utility poles and conductors. Connect into the electrical distribution system - conduct all work as shown on the plans. Install Owner supplied microwave antenna and associated cabling on a pole determined by Juneau Police Department (JPD) Representative. Assist in focusing signal to Saddle Mountain Communications Center. Install Owner supplied security camera on each pole, associated wiring and signal boosters as coordinated by JPD Representative. Additive Alternate: Supply 3 and install new LED Area Light Fixtures to replace existing. Install new fixtures on existing poles. Conduct all work as shown on the plans. All Work shall be in accordance with the CBJ Standard Details, 4th Edition, August 2011 and the Standard Specifications for Civil Engineering Projects and Subdivision Improvements, December 2003 Edition, and current errata, unless otherwise indicated in this RFQ document. Final Application for payment shall be submitted prior to December 15, 2023. Final Clearances from Alaska Department of Labor (DOL) must be received by CBJ no later than December 15, 2023 (therefore submitted to DOL by the Contractor substantially prior to December 15, 2023, to ensure adequate time for clearance to be approved by DOL). Any application for payment after December 15, 2023, or not receiving formal DOL\clearance by December 15, 2023, may result in non-payment due to DHS Grant submission and completion requirements and missing the Grant funding deadline CONTRACTOR'S LICENSE. All contractors are required to have a current Alaska Contractor's License, prior to submitting a Bid, and a current Alaska Business License prior to award. PERFORMANCE, PAYMENT, AND OTHER BONDS. The Contractor shall furnish Performance and Payment Bonds in the amount of 100% of the Bid.
