Bid security in the form of a certified bank check or bank draft payable to the City of Carbondale or a satisfactory bid bond in the amount of 10% of the total bid price, as specified in Section 2-7 of the General Conditions and The City of Carbondale's Policy for Disadvantaged Business Enterprise and/or Workforce Participation Goals in Contracts are required to be submitted with the Bid. No bid shall be withdrawn for a period of forty-five (45) days subsequent to the opening of bids without consent of the City of Carbondale. Introduction: The City of Carbondale is requesting proposals from highly qualified, experienced sports field contractor for infield renovation for ballfields 1-4 located at the Super Block Sports Complex. Project Description. This project involves the removal of 10' - 15' of sod off the back arc to reduce lip and encourage positive surface drainage. All labor and materials necessary to complete the work provided by the contractor. Pre-bid meeting attendance and site visit prior to bidding is required. The Contractor shall field verify and visit the site to determine the full scope of work required to cover all aspects of the intended project. The project includes the following tasks by contractor: o Remove 10' to 15' of sod off back arc to reduce lip o Re sod or silt back to desired distance if necessary o Remove all existing base anchors, pitching rubbers, and home plates o Till and laser grade to establish base grade of infields o Till to amend materials and re laser grade infields o Assist City of Carbondale staff re setting base anchors, plates, and pitching rubbers o Haul in 100 tons of Dura Edge Classic Engineered soil field 1 o Haul in 100 tons of Dura Edge Classic Engineered soil field 4 o Haul in 50 tons of Dura Edge Classic Engineered soil field 2 o Haul in 50 tons of Dura Edge Classic Engineered soil field 3 o Water and roll infields if proper pressure is available o Provide closeout maintenance training of City staff o Perform any other incidental work necessary to complete the project The project includes the following tasks by City of Carbondale: o Clean up along backstop fencing to reduce buildup and weeds o Hauling off vegetation from back arcs
