The scope of work consists of removal and replacement of the retaining wall, and headwall at the box culverts at the northwest side of the Memorial Drive and Paige Road intersection and other work deemed necessary by the City of The Colony. The scope of work consists of, but is not limited to, mobilization, preparation of right-of-way, traffic control, approximately 110 SY of sidewalk removal and replacement, approximately 15 CY of a 6-inch-thick concrete apron, removal and replacement of the existing concrete headwall with the addition of a new moment slab with a traffic barrier, approximately 20 CY of parallel wingwall removal and replacement, approximately 60 CY of flared wingwall removal and replacement, and any other work deemed necessary by the City. All of the above shall be done in accordance with TxDOT and NCTCOG specifications with the City of the Colony's Addenda and as per instructions of the City of The Colony City Engineer. All construction sequencing and barricading will be done according to the City of The Colony Standards. The opinion of probable construction cost for the overall project is $498,000. The successful bidder will be required to furnish Payment and Performance Bonds for 100% of amount bid and a two (2) year Maintenance Bonds in the amount of fifty thousand dollars ($50,000.00) or ten (10%) percent of the amount of the contract, whichever is greater, but not to exceed one hundred (100) percent of the contract amount, from a Surety licensed to do business in the State of Texas, within fifteen (15) days of the bid award. The bidder must submit, 5 days prior to the bid opening time, proof of insurance and a Cashiers Check, Certified Check or Bid Bond in the amount of five (5%) percent of the bid amount to Purchasing Manager (cdelossantos@thecolonytx.gov). Originals must be submitted in the bid packet OR received by the Purchasing Manager before the RFP opening. The winning bidder, upon City acceptance, will be required to provide the City with a minimum two (2) year maintenance bond. The maintenance bond shall be in the amount of fifty thousand dollars ($50,000.00) or ten (10%) percent of the amount of the contract, whichever is greater, but not to exceed one hundred (100) percent of the contract amount.
