PROJECT OVERVIEW: The Wm. Jennings Bryan Dorn Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center located in Columbia, SC is seeking a qualified Architectural Engineering firm to provide all labor, materials, tools, equipment, and design services to include Schematics, Design Development, Construction Documents, Technical Specifications, Construction Period Services, Site Visits, Cost Estimates, As-Built Documentation, and all other related services necessary for the Building 8 Renovation Old Boiler Plant Phase 1 Demo and Abatement. This project is to renovate building 8 at the Columbia VA Health Care System campus located at 6439 Garners Ferry Rd, Columbia, SC. Building 8 is large space with 30 ft. walls constructed in the 1930's which housed the former boiler plant. It is the VA's intent to restore the building over multiple phases. This project will be the first phase and is intended to remove hazardous materials, remove the old boilers, non-serviceable infrastructure, remove existing finishes, replace windows and doors, and to expose structure for conditional assessments. Building 8 is a historic facility and all design work must be coordinated with State Historic Preservation Office. PROJECT: Project 544-22-139 Building 8 Renovation Old Boiler Plant Phase 1 Demo and Abatement Work Location: Wm. Jennings Bryan Dorn Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center Estimated/Target Completion Period: 300 calendar days after Notice to Proceed (NTP). CONSTRUCTION MAGNITUDE: Between $2,000,000 and $5,000,000. NAICS: 541310 - Architectural Services SMALL BUSINESS SIZE STANDARD: $12.5 million SET-ASIDE: 100% Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) Site Visits will not be arranged during this phase. The anticipated award date of the proposed A-E Contract is on or before December 15, 2023. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. The Method of Contractor Selection has not been determined at this Time.
