The City of Durham is seeking a general contractor for Old Fire Station 9 Metal Roof Recoating project. The Underutilized Business Enterprise participation goals are 11% MUBE and WUBE 0%. All inquiries, questions, requests for substitution, and/or clarifications must be submitted in writing via the email below according to the directions given in the Request for Approval of Substitution and in the Instructions to Bidders prior to 12:00 p.m. Friday, September 8, 2023 Drawing and technical specification inquiries should be directed to: Lisa R. Smith Senior Project Manager City of Durham General Services Department 919.560.4197 x 21273 lisa.smith@durhamnc.gov The Work of the Project is defined by the Contract Documents and consists of the following: Old Fire Station 9 is a metal roof recoating project located at 2012 E. Club Blvd. The facility is approximately 3,200 square feet. Work shall include the following: o Removal of loose flaking rust, dust, debris, leaves etc.. o Secure all gaped panels. o Repair all flashing and roof penetrations, if necessary. o Installation of a roofing system to the entire metal roof surface as noted in the elastomeric roof coating specification. o Use two coats of elastomeric roof coating. o Wash the metal roof surface using a low pressure wash to remove any flaking rust.
