The Fire Department was built in 1908. It is a brick and mortar building that has many deteriorating windows that need replaced. Despite this and other previous work on the windows the building suffers severe air infiltration around and through the wood-framed windows, including penetration by heat, cold and dirt/dust. The goals of this project are to reduce the drafts and dust infiltration; to limit rain penetration that occurs during high-intensity rainstorms; and to improve the effectiveness of heating and cooling systems by reducing heat and cold exchange with the outdoors. All questions regarding this bid should go to Fire Chief Trae Boehm. Questions must be in writing and can be e-mailed to trae.boehm@cityoffortmorgan.com. The cut-off date and time for questions is Friday, September 8, 2023 at 9:00 a.m. It is the responsibility of the prospective bidders to contact Trae Boehm to verify receipt of questions. Based upon such inquiry, the City may choose to issue an Addendum. If delivered, they are to be sent to 110 Main Street, Fort Morgan, CO 80701. If mailed, the address is P.O. Box 100, Fort Morgan, CO 80701. If emailed, the address is cfm.bids@cityoffortmorgan.com. Bids must be properly signed, and any bid addendums acknowledged, by an authorized representative of the company with the legal capacity to bind the company to the contractual agreement. In addition, the authorized representative's signature of the Proposal assures the company's understanding of the City's Procurement Policy. Only Bids properly received will be accepted. The City's Procurement Policy is available for review in the Municipal Code, Chapter 4, Article 6, Procurement and Contract Program. The link to this policy can be found on the city's website. There are approximately 31 windows in this facility. These are rough measurements, and the contractor is responsible for their own measurements. 3 - 54.5'' x 75'' Double Hung 2 - 54.5'' x 55'' Slider 1 - 54.5'' x 66.5'' Slider 1 - 42'' x 75'' Single Hung 1 - 34.5'' x 58.5'' Single Hung 1 - 49.5'' x 63.5'' Single Hung 1 - 34.5'' x 46'' Single Hung 3 - 16.5'' x 58.5'' Picture 1 - 34.5'' x 58.5'' Single Hung 11 - 49.5'' x 58.5'' Slider 2 - 32.5'' x 55.5'' Single Hung 2 - 49.5'' x 58.5'' Slider 1 - 49.5'' x 58.5'' Single Hung 1 - 16.5'' x 46.5'' Single Hung. The Contractor will be responsible for a turn-key project that includes: o Permits, materials, labor and coordination with the City of Fort Morgan for all work involved in executing the proposed window project solution o Window measurements. These are rough measurements and the Contractor must inspect and measure all windows in the Fire Department prior to bidding. It will be the responsibility of the Bidders to take their own measurements of the windows in each room of the Fire Department during a scheduled visit with the Fire Chief. o The Bid Form contains an open page on which to describe in narrative form the bidder's proposed solution for this project. Bidders are free to use additional pages as needed for this purpose. o In the event the City's budget for this project is not sufficient to cover the treatment of all windows in Historic City Hall, the project may be reduced or split into phases. o Bids should include the cost of removing the existing window screens, washing existing windows and frames, and sealing and weatherproofing windows as part of installation.
