The Town of Old Saybrook, Connecticut, Harbor Management Commission is accepting proposals for renovation of the North Cove Launch Ramp located on North Cove Rd., Old Saybrook, CT. The launch ramp and associated parking area provided small boat access to North Cove and the Connecticut River. The base scope of this RFP is as follows: The intent of the project is to perform the renovations to the North Cove Launch Ramp and surrounding areas identified in Exhibit A & Band in accordance with the requirements in Exhibit A & B. The scope of work consists are follows: 1. Filling sinkholes and resetting dislodged stones along the stone and concrete crib with concrete. 2. Repairing the mid-section of an existing launch ramp by removing a 20.5' by 15' deteriorated section of concrete and asphalt and replacing it with 20.5' by 15' of fiber reinforced concrete atop 12" of compacted gravel. 3. Extending the waterward terminus of an existing launch ramp 10'-2" to the MLW line by installing a 12.5; area of open cell concrete pavers filled with crushed stone atop 12" of compacted gravel, and saw cut the existing waterward concrete section of the ramp to match the new pavers/concrete. All work performed seaward of the High Tide Line shall be performed during low tide. Work conducted adjacent to the wall eastward of the ramp shall be conducted such that the integrity of the wall is maintained. The use of jackhammers, equipment mounted vibratory tools or other high impact methods are prohibited. The contractor is directed to saw cut the existing deteriorated asphalt and concrete pavement prior to removal. Alternate methods of removal are to be identified in the RFP and is subject to the approval of the OSHMC. Contractor will not be held responsible for damage to the wall unless the construction methods employed by the Contractor not consistent with the standard of care for such work. Question must be submitted in writing by September 1, 2023.
