Said improvements shall include, clearing and grubbing, pavement removal, excavation, storm sewer, top soiling, fine grading and seeding for the new soccer field. Each bid must be accompanied in a separate envelope by one of the following: a deposit of money, Certified Check, Cashier's Check, or Credit Union Certified Share Draft, or a Bid Bond to be executed by a corporation authorized to contract as a surety in the state of Iowa, in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the amount of the Bid, made payable to Western Iowa Tech Community College, Sioux City, Iowa, and may be cashed by the Board as liquidated damages in the event the successful Bidder fails to enter into a Contract and file a 100% performance and payment bond satisfactory to the Board assuring the faithful fulfillment of the Contract and maintenance of said improvements as required by law, the provisions of this notice and the Contract Documents within ten (10) days after acceptance of his Bid. The Contractor shall begin work after receipt of a Notice to Proceed, which is anticipated to be issued on October 23, 2023. All work on the project shall be substantially complete (except seeding) on or before July 15, 2024, and ready for final acceptance (seeding complete) on or before August 30, 2024 The WITCC Board of Directors reserves the right to reject any or all bids, re-advertise for all bids and to waive any or all formalities that may be in the best interest of Western Iowa Tech Community College.
