The Work under this Contract includes, but is not limited to, the demolition of the 2-story 1455 Hancock Street building and 2-story 1459 Hancock Street building, asbestos abatement, removal of regulated hazardous materials, shoring of adjacent buildings & right of way, utility removal, partial foundation demolition and removal, site backfill, and all materials, equipment, and services City of Quincy, Massachusetts (Owner) invites Bidders to submit sealed Bids for 1455-1459 Hancock Street Building Demolition Project, which includes, but is not limited to demolition of the 1455-1459 Hancock Street Building, and all materials, equipment, services inherent to the Work The Work shall be initiated October 2, 2023. The Work shall be substantially complete within 90 calendar days from the commencement of Contract Time and completed and ready for final payment 120 calendar days from the commencement of Contract Time The Project being bid is subject to Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 149, Sections 44A-J. General Bidders must be certified by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance (DCAMM) for DEMOLITION. No Sub-Bids are required for the Project Each and every general bid shall be on the Bid Form furnished with the Bidding Documents as provided by the City of Quincy and shall be sealed in an envelope which is clearly marked in the lower left hand corner "BID FOR 1455-1459 HANCOCK STREET BUILDING DEMOLITION PROJECT, CITY OF QUINCY, 1305 HANCOCK ST., QUINCY, MA". Bid security in the amount of 5 percent (5%) of the Bid must accompany the Bid in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. Owner reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, including without limitation, nonconforming, nonresponsive, unbalanced, or conditional Bids. Owner further reserves the right to reject the Bid of any Bidder whom it finds, after reasonable inquiry and evaluation, not to be responsible or eligible or not to meet the specified qualification or quality requirements, based on poor references or otherwise. Owner may also reject the Bid of any Bidder if Owner reasonably believes that it would not be in the best interest of the Project or the public to make an award to that Bidder. Owner also reserves the right to waive all informalities not involving price, time, or changes in the Work and to negotiate contract terms with the Successful Bidder.
