The intent of this Invitation for Bids and resulting contract is to obtain the services of a qualified firm to replace Heat Recovery Units (HRU) that provide HVAC ventilation air to the Goochland High School Complex located at 3250 River Road West, Goochland, VA. 23063, as specified in this IFB. GHS was built in 2001. Deadline for Questions September 7, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. All questions relating to this solicitation shall be submitted to Tandra Harris, Purchasing Officer, Goochland County Public Schools, at tharris@glnd.k12.va.us 1) If the total bid price, including any add alternates and not excluding any deduct alternates, exceeds $50,000, the Bid shall be accompanied by Bid security in the amount of five (5%) percent of the Bid amount in the form of a Bid Bond from a Surety legally authorized to do business in Virginia, or a cashier's check, or certified check payable to GOOCHLAND COUNTY, VIRGINIA. The Bid Bond shall be enclosed in the sealed envelope containing the Bid. The Bidder shall require the attorney-in-fact that executed the Bid Bond on behalf of the surety company to affix thereto a certified and current copy of the power of attorney. The Bidder shall pay the cost of providing the Bid security. A Performance Bond and Payment Bond, each in an amount equal to one-hundred (100%) percent of the contract amount, is required.The School Board reserves the right to cancel and terminate any resulting contract, in part or in whole, without penalty,upon 60 days written notice to the Contractor. In the event the initial contract period is for more than 12 months, the resulting contract may also be terminated by the Contractor, without penalty, after the initial 12 months of the contract period upon 60 days written notice to the other party. Any contract cancellation notice shall not relieve the Contractor of the obligation to deliver and/or perform on all outstanding orders issued prior to the effective date of cancellation. Upon termination of the contract by either party, payment shall be made for any portion of the work completed up to the date of termination. In general, the project includes one-for-one replacement of five (5) HVAC Heat Recovery Units (HRUs) that provide ventilation air to the classrooms WSHPs. Four (4) HRUs are located on the roof of the school. One (1) HRU (HRU-4) is located in a mechanical mezzanine. Unit replacement will involve demolition of existing equipment, rework of rooftop equipment curbs, cleaning and modifications to above ceiling duct, modifications to piping and electrical, installation of new equipment, startup, system verification and TAB, and BAS controls for new HRUs.
