Scope of work to include: design and construction of a new fire station that is to be built next to, and on the same parcel as, the existing station; the existing station will be used as interim housing during construction of the new station and demolished after completion and Owner Occupancy of the new station. In accordance with the provisions of the California Public Contract Code Sections 22160-22169, the Fire District is utilizing a two-step process to prequalify, select and award contracts to Design-Build Entities (D-BEs) for this project. The District will use the Progressive Design-Build delivery method and deliver this project in two distinct phases, 1) design/pre-construction and 2) construction. The issuance of the RFSQ along with the Prequalification Questionnaire is the first step in the process. The D-BE’s with the highest ranking scores will be placed on the District’s Design Build Fire Station List and be eligible to advance to the second step in the process, which includes the issuance of Design-Build Request for Proposals (RFP).
