The work shall consist of furnishing all labor, equipment, and materials necessary to perform all operations in connection with cleaning and sealing of construction, random, and vegetation cracks in hot mix asphalt pavement, and vegetation removal and sterilization of cracks where necessary. All work done under this item will conform to item 480 of the Massachusetts Highway Department Standards for Highway and Bridges 2023 The work consists of the Crack Sealing of various roadways and Town Parking Lots in the Town of East Longmeadow, totaling approximately 105,000 square yards of asphalt roadway and 34,000 square yards of asphalt parking lots. All work is to be completed no later than October 31, 2023. All bids for this project are subject to the provisions of Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 30, Section 39M as amended. Electronic delivery of documents is strongly preferred. There is no deposit or shipping charge for electronic documents. Paper copies of Bidding Documents will be shipped upon request via U.P.S. Ground Service, UPS, or FedEx only if deposits, handling and shipping charges are prepaid. All Bidders shall furnish with their Bid a bid guaranty in the form of a bid bond, cash or a certified check, treasurer's check or cashier's check issued by a responsible bank or trust company, in the amount of 5% of the total amount of the bid and made payable to the Town of East Longmeadow, Massachusetts. Performance and Labor and Materials Payment Bonds, in the full amount of the Contract Price, will be required of the Successful Bidder. No Bid may be withdrawn within sixty (60) days after the date of the opening of bids. Wages are subject to Massachusetts minimum wage rates as per M.G.L. Chapter 149, Section 26 to 27H, inclusive. Owner reserves the right to waive any informality in or to reject any or all Bids, or to accept any Bid which in its opinion, is in the public interest to do so.
