Mowing at the Miner Lane Landfill 85 Miner Lane Town of Waterford, Connecticut Semiannual mowing of the vegetative cover on the closed landfill. The mowing area is approximately 18 acres of grass which shall be mowed to a height of not less than 6-inches. The area include slopes ranging from relatively flat to approximately 1V:2.5H and areas within a rock drainage swales. The Town anticipates two mowing's per year, one the mid May and at the end of September. Actual mowing times must be approved by the Town. Mowing shall be by mechanical means where possible and using hand equipment where necessary. All open, flat and sloped areas, around monitoring wells, up to the tree lines, berms and cutting of brush and weeds from rock-lined drainage ditches and drainage openings are part of the work required. The Contractor will be responsible for inspection of site prior to each mowing and notify the owner of any settlements, burrows, nesting birds or bald areas. Owner will inspect with site contractor before and after the work has been completed. Each bid must be accompanied by a bid bond payable to the Town for five percent (5%) of the total amount of the bid. A 100% Performance and Payment bonds are required of the successful bidder.
