Newport Township Commissioners will consider the bids for award at the regular monthly meeting of Commissioners scheduled for 6:00 P.M., Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at the above-noted location. BIDS are invited for the Wanamie Park Paving Improvements Briefly, the work includes the, milling and paving at the Wanamie Recreation Parking Lot, bituminous surfacing of Walking Trail, and miscellaneous work, all as provided for within the contract documents, bid form and on the project drawings. CONTRACT DOCUMENTS, including Drawings and Technical Specifications are on file at the Office of PennEastern Engineers, LLC 165 North Wilkes-Barre Boulevard, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702. BID SECURITY in the amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the total bid shall be submitted with each bid, in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. Performance, Payment, and Maintenance Bonds are required by the successful bidder for each contract. Prospective bidders are urged to familiarize themselves with the site and review the scope of work and construction documents. Any contractor, who does not do so and submits a bid, does so at his own risk. This Project was financed in-part by a grant established under the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) for COVID-19 and the Coronavirus State And Local Fiscal Recovery Fund (SLFRF) that is being administered by Luzerne County via the Luzerne County American Rescue Plan Grant Program (ARPA Grant) and all requirements of these Agencies are to be met by the Bidders. The bidders attention is called to the fact that the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act and the Pennsylvania Public Works Employment Verification Act apply to this Contract if the estimated cost of the project is in excess of $25,000.
