The AWWU, a Department in the Municipality of Anchorage, is the largest utility in Alaska, providing both water and sanitary sewer services. AWWU operates two surface water treatment facilities, nearly a dozen high production water wells, three wastewater treatment facilities, and over 200 remote facilities. AWWU has 285 full time positions with staff located at all five treatment facilities, its centralized King Street Operations & Maintenance campus, and its headquarters located on Arctic Boulevard. The Plan will develop strategic goals and objectives, using industry best practices, to serve as a road map for AWWU operations over the next five years. The Plan will support the overall theme of "Sustainable Operations in a Transformative Era" and will provide specific goals and objectives with measurable results. The Plan will incorporate feedback from the AWWU Executive Leadership Team with input from the Contractor on present-day and potential future utility industry challenges.
