The PSA desires to enact a Fire Hydrant Maintenance and Flow Testing Program. The selected contractor shall be responsible for the maintenance, flow testing and painting of all fire hydrants under the jurisdiction of the PSA in a timely manner. This maintenance shall consist of inspecting, cleaning, and maintaining of the hydrants and clearing of weeds and debris to insure that each hydrant is in a serviceable condition. The PSA currently maintains approximately 360 fire hydrants within its service areas. Work shall be completed within 60 days after issuance of a Notice to Proceed or Purchase Order. The current intent is to have this service performed every other year, but this is subject to change based on the needs of the PSA during the life of the contract. Work shall be performed during regular business hours, and shall be coordinated with the PSA offices. The PSA shall approve all gasket materials, lubricants and paint proposed by the Contractor for the maintenance activities described in the Public Service Authority Hydrant Inspection and Maintenance Program including painting of the fire hydrants. PSA shall provide maps showing the locations of all fire hydrants. The contractor shall adhere to the maintenance and testing procedures outlined in the Public Service Authority Hydrant Inspection and Maintenance Program. Question Deadline 08/30/2023 The initial contract period shall be two years, with four optional two-year renewal periods.
