The City of Sault Ste. Marie will receive sealed bids for Elevated Storage Tank Painting Project Consultation. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive irregularities in bids and to accept any bids which in the opinion of the City Commission may be most advantageous to the City of Sault Ste. Marie and in accordance with the Citys Award Process and other bidding documents. OBJECTIVE The 750,000 Gallon 4th Avenue Water Tower is reaching the end of life on the paint. The tower was inspected in 2021 with the goal date of 2024 listed for blast and recoat. B. PROPOSED SERVICES AND RESPONSIBILITES I. Preparation of Specifications and Contract Documents Scope of Services Performed by the Owner 1) Provide a place for the bid opening. 2) Preside over the Bid Opening and open the bids received. 3) Review insurance certificate coverages. 4) Review Payment, Performance and Maintenance Bonds cope of Services Performed by Consultant 1) Prepare Contract Documents and Technical Specifications for project to include, but not limited to, the following: a. Advertisement for Bids b. Information for Bidders c. General Conditions d. Detailed Specifications e. Inspection Form f. Proposal Format g. Contract Agreement 2) Address all questions, written or verbal response, concerning the project that is submitted. 3) Present Advertisements to Contractors who have been prior approved as capable and conscientious. 4) Prepare EGLE permit application submitted to Owner for signature. 5) Send Specifications to selected appropriate Plan rooms. 6) Review the bids submitted to the Owner and recommend award. 7) Furnish Owner and Contractor Contract Documents to complete. 8) Review Payment and Performance Bonds of selected Contractor and the Insurance Certificates. The Owner's Insurance Consultant and Attorney should also review. 9) Furnish Owner with complete Notice to Proceed to sign and forward to the Contractor Question Deadline 09/01/2023 at 3:00 PM ET
