The Alberni-Clayoquot Regional District (ACRD) is seeking qualified individuals or contractors to maintain grounds and landscaping at the ACRD Administration Office located at 3008 Fifth Avenue, Port Alberni, BC. The successful proponent will enter into a 3 year agreement starting no later than September 01, 2023. The ACRD must maintain a clean and overall orderly appearance of landscaping, sidewalks, and parking areas. All Duties are to be coordinated with office staff to ensure they are scheduled at appropriate times and at regular intervals. The selected vendor must be available on an on-call basis year-round (within reason) if required. Duties include the following: Ensure all planters are free of weeds. Maintain/trim shrubs as necessary. Ensure grass is cut near Fourth Street boundary (west side of lot) between sidewalk and parking lot. Ensure grass is cut near Angus Street boundary (south side of lot) between sidewalk and building. All sidewalks and parking areas kept free of organic debris from trees and shrubs. Sidewalks providing access to the building must be kept clean. Occasional litter collection. Does not include sharps and possibly hazardous refuse. All bark mulch to be raked and reasonably free of debris and weeds. Gravel areas to be kept free of weeds. Ensure noisy maintenance activities over 60Db, (Leaf blowing, mowing, etc.) are carried out with approval of building maintenance staff and scheduled in advance. Protect the public at all times in accordance with Worksafe BC regulations, i.e. Cordon off risky or dangerous work areas if needed and display required signage. Protect the workers at all times in accordance with Worksafe BC regulations. Provide a site safety plan and ensure all required personal protective gear is available. Provide proof of insurance There are three catch basins on the property. Please avoid obstruction/congestion of the catch basins with debris.
