Burke County, North Carolina, is requesting statements of qualifications from qualified professional civil engineers for the design, bidding, and construction oversight of several sewer infrastructure projects. The projects include but are not limited to sewer lift station and collection system upgrades, sewer line replacement, general consulting, and planning for a system wide asset inventory and assessment analysis (AIA). The Wastewater System Asset Inventory and Assessment project will include a complete inventory and assessment of Burke County’s wastewater system assets, which include gravity collection lines, interceptor sewers, force mains, air relief valves, manholes (brick-built and pre-cast), clean-outs, pumping stations, associated low pressure appurtenances, and a wastewater treatment procedures. All assets will be field located with GPS grade field equipment for development of Geographic Information System (GIS) shapefiles, maps, and databases. Key attributes pertaining to the size, material of construction, make and model, age and condition assessment of each asset and/or component will be recorded during the field survey for inclusion in the GIS system. Each asset in the database/shapefile will be given its own record (each with a unique identifier), so that as service is performed, the asset is replaced, or the condition of the asset changes, the database/shapefile can be updated. The overall objectives of this project include the following: • Planning, design, and permitting for the proposed sewer projects. • Preparing bid documents and specifications • Providing assistance with bidding, bid tabulation, and recommendation of award. • Construction phase administration and observation questions can be emailed to Brian Nieft at brian.nieft@burkenc.org no later than 5pm, 09/01/2023
