City of Bothell will receive sealed bids for the following construction project. The Ultra Custom Care Cleaners Site Soil Remediation proposes to proposes to remove and dispose offsite of chlorinated volatile organic compound contaminated soil from the former dry cleaner source property to achieve compliance with the cleanup standards outlined in the Model Toxics Control Act. The general aspects of this work will involve removal of existing pavement and foundations; well decommissioning, excavation, hauling and landfill disposal of contaminated soil; soil mixing with zero-valent iron; backfill placement and compaction; and asphalt paving. The total estimated cost for this project is in the range of $250,000 to $325,000. The number of working days for Physical Completion of this project is 20. The City of Bothell in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, 78 Stat. 252, 42 USC 2000d to 2000d-4 and Title 49, Code of Federal Regulations, Department of Transportation, Subtitle A, Office of the Secretary, Part 21, Nondiscrimination in Federally-Assisted Programs of the Department of Transportation issued pursuant to such Act, hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprises as defined at 49 CFR Part 26 will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, national origin, or sex in consideration for an award. Financing of the project has been provided by the Washington State Department of Ecology. The City of Bothell reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive minor irregularities or informalities and to further make award of the project to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder as it best serves the interest of the City. Proposals are to be submitted only on the form provided with the Contract Provisions. All Proposals must be accompanied by a certified check, cashiers check, money order or bid bond payable to the City of Bothell and in the amount of not less than 5% of the total bid amount. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document.
