The City of Durham (“the City”) operates the Waste Disposal and Recycling Center (WD&RC) located at 2115 E. Club Boulevard, Durham, NC 27704 for residents and non- residential entities to safely dispose of recyclables, electronics, appliances, scrap metal, yard waste, bulky items, and trash. Household hazardous waste collection is also available at this location for Durham residents. The WD&RC encounters significant traffic during operating hours, and it is the City’s mission to provide not only excellent customer, but also well-kept and maintained grounds. Scope of Work. The City is seeking proposals for lawn care and landscaping services for the WD&RC. The Contractor will need to provide at least the following services, the list of which is not exhaustive: general lawn care maintenance such as cutting and trimming grass, weed eating and weed control, tree and shrub pruning, blowing and removal of leaves, and keeping all trash and debris picked up to ensure a neat and well-kept appearance. Additionally, the Contractor would be required to perform heavy cutting of fence lines twice per year and to remove trees occasionally. Service needs to be performed a minimum of once per month during November - February and twice per month during March - October. Proposals should include all services the Candidate is willing to provide, as well as the frequency with which those services would be provided. Questions about the RFP and the RFP process should be submitted to the Project Manager identified at the beginning of this RFP. The deadline for questions is 5:00 pm on August 28, 2023. Bonds. No performance bond or payment bond is required for this contract.
