The Central Texas VA Medical Center in Temple Texas is requesting the installation and modification of the fire door hold open system currently used on the fire doors in 163 & 204. The facility is requesting the mechanical fire door hold opens be replaced with a magnetic hold open. The contractor will be responsible for all labor, materials, and equipment needed to install these holders. The facility needs these hold opens for the fire doors to help keep the doors open for normal traffic flow and to close when the fire alarm is activated. Work will be performed at the Central Texas Veterans Health Care Facility in Temple at 1901 Veterans Memorial Drive, Temple, Texas 76504. After the work is complete, the contractor will have a walkthrough with the Project Manager (PM) or VA POC to ensure all requirements are met, area is back to pre-work conditions, and provide test reports for the lift system. The contractor shall provide all personnel, services, vehicles, transportation, tools, equipment, materials, supplies, facility supervision, administration supervision and any other item(s) necessary to perform and accomplish this service. It is the sole responsibility of the Contractor to meet the requirements of this project without any assistance from the Government. The Government will provide access and information only for this project. All equipment must be function tested and verified/witness by POC/VA Team. All work must comply with federal, state, and local regulations. The contractor shall contact the VA POC 5 days ahead of starting work to allow for coordination. The contractor shall protect all government property from damage to include floors, ceiling tiles, and walls. Contractor shall replace any damaged item with new or better materials. The Contractor shall provide a work schedule to include a detailed list of work to be done. The work plan shall indicate time frame and programmed power shut-off, if applicable. The contractor shall notify the VAPM upon entry and exit to the VA property. A pre-site visit may be coordinated for contractor's bidding, and all must be present to verify measurements, material requirement per the SOW, and investigate site conditions prior to submitting proposal. All work must comply with federal, state, and local regulation. All necessary equipment required to meet the intent of these specifications, whether or not enumerated within these specifications, shall be supplied, and installed to provide complete and operating system. Contractor and all associated subcontractor employees shall comply with applicable facility and local security policies and procedures. Contractor shall provide names of Contractor and Subcontractor employees to the POC or Government representative. VA will issue contractor badge/pass to contractor and subcontractor employees, as applicable. Employee list shall include name, title, qualifications and responsibilities like hazardous materials, PPE, fire safety penetrations, material disposal, lock-out/tag-out, etc. Note: It is highly encouraged bidders do a site visit to verify conditions prior to bid in-order to be fully acquainted with existing site conditions and scope of work. The VA will not be responsible for a vendor's misconceptions of the conditions and requirements of this service. The period of performance for this service shall be less than 30 days to complete.
