The work under this Section covers the general requirements that are applicable to all types of hot and warm mix asphalt pavements of the plant mix type. Deviations from these general requirements will be indicated in the specific requirements for various types of mixes noted in the following sections of these Specifications. This work shall consist of one or more courses of hot and warm mix asphalt plant mix constructed in accordance with these specifications and the specific requirements of the type of mixture required and in reasonably close conformity with the lines, grades, thicknesses, and typical cross sections shown on the plans or established by the Engineer. The Contractor may use either hot mix or warm mix for all Superpave ESAL Range mixes in Sections 420, 423, and 424. Warm mix asphalt shall be defined as the use of an approved warm mix technology in the plant mix at the time of production The bracket estimate on this project is from [$350,000] to [$450,000]. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. This bracket range is provided only as a general indication of a broad financial size category for the project. It should not be used in preparing a bid, nor will it have any bearing on any decision to award the contract. The principal items of work are approximately as follows: 450A-004 Plain concrete cement pavement, 9" thick 75 Square yards 614A-000 Slope paving 25 Cubic yards 618A-000 Concrete sidewalk, 4" thick 1,129 Square yards 618B-002 Concrete driveway, 6" thick 93 Square yards 623C-003 Combination concrete curb and gutter, Type C (modified) 1,242 Linear feet 703A-002 Traffic control markings, Class 2, Type A 2,112 Square yards 730Y-000 Furnishing and installing pedestal pole and foundation with pedestrian signal features 4 Each The entire project shall be completed in forty (40) working days. To be eligible for consideration, bids must be submitted on complete original proposals made available by the owner. Checks shall be made payable to Krebs Engineering. Bid documents will be delivered only upon receipt of deposit. No bid documents will be distributed later than 24 hours prior to the scheduled opening of bids.
