The Town of Hardwick is seeking bids from licensed and qualified contractor with expertise and equipment to remove the existing bridge superstructure and prepare and place a temporary bridge supplied by the State of Vermont. Contractor shall pickup temporary bridge located at 1170 US Rt 2 Middlesex, Vermont. The contact will be Jeremy Salvatori (802) 522-9249 (VTRANS). The bridge install at Fisher Folly Drive will be a fifty-foot single lane bridge, this will require 2 full size tractor trailer loads, or if using a smaller trailer 3-4 loads. The bridge will require waste blocks abutments to sit on, this will require 4 waste blocks. The bridge will require an unpaved approach on each end, the length of the approach will be roughly 30 feet to transition up to top of the temporary bridge deck. The depth of the approach at the bridge will be roughly 3 feet and taper down to the existing grade, the width of the approach will be roughly 17 feet and the travel opening of the bridge is 15 feet. Jersey barriers will be required to help retain the approach fill on the sides and used for channeling the traffic onto the bridge, this will require 10 jersey barriers. Wood required to build a backwall to retain the fill would be 4 sheets of 3/4 inch pressure treated plywood, decking screws, and (10) 2X6's pressure treated. From there an excavator and a loader will be needed to build the bridge on site with technical guidance from the state when the project is started.
